Residing in Rochester, New York, Karen J. DeRouen has served on the Camp Get-A-Way Board of Directors for over five years. Karen’s first Camp Get-A-Way experience opened her eyes to the need for the camp and showed her how much it meant to families to be in the camp environment.
As a kid, Karen’s parents always took her and her little sister, Wendy, camping; giving back and supporting Camp Get-A-Way always brings back great memories. She loves seeing the opportunities Camp Get-A-Way creates for kids with mental health issues (and their families) to enjoy camping without any stigma or judgment from others.
