Although he grew up on Long Island, Ken Tangel now enjoys the beautiful woods and fields of upstate New York surrounding his Geneseo home. Ken and his wife, Laura, enjoy all the joyful noise and activity that comes with raising their seven children.

Fifteen years ago, Ken was asked to help with Camp Get-A-Way; and ever since, he’s been serving in a variety of capacities—running respite for children, serving as a one-on-one support person, and assisting with crisis response. He has served on the Camp Get-A-Way Board of Directors since November 2019 and became President in 2021. Ken loves seeing families that struggle, have positive interactions with each other and other families. There’s nothing like seeing a huge smile on the face of a kid after hitting the target with an arrow!
