Ken Tangel
Although he grew up on Long Island, Ken now enjoys the beautiful woods and fields of upstate New York surrounding his Geneseo home. Ken and his wife, Laura, enjoy all the joyful noise and activity that comes with raising their seven children—one of which they delivered on the side of the road!
Ken was asked to help out around Camp Get-A-Way over 15 years ago, and, since then, he’s served in all kinds of capacities. He joined the Board of Directors in November 2019 and became president in 2021. A lot of families with children with mental, emotional, or behavioral challenges get to experience a non-judgemental environment for the first time at camp. He loves seeing a parent’s or child’s face light up when they experience something new—that’s what it’s all about for Ken.
